IMT Ethics, Professionalism and Governance Scenarios (2027)
The Internal Medicine Training interview ends Station 1 with an ethics, professionalism and governance scenario of up to five minutes, scored 1 to 5 by two interviewers at a weighting of 1.2. Capacity, confidentiality, the struggling colleague, candour and DNACPR are the five families to prepare.

IMT Offers, Ranking and Preferences 2027
Internal Medicine Training offers for 2027 are made in rank order of the weighted interview score against your programme preferences, with initial offers due by 6 April 2027. You have 48 hours to accept, hold or reject, and the hold and upgrade deadlines follow on 9 and 14 April 2027.

The IMT Clinical Station and the One-Minute Handover (2027)
Station 2 of the Internal Medicine Training interview is one clinical scenario of up to ten minutes, covering investigations, diagnosis and management, then a one-minute handover. Clinical is weighted 1.2, communication 1.6 and the handover 0.8: 36 of the 96 marks.

The IMT Two-Minute Presentation and the Suitability Questions (2027)
Station 1 of the Internal Medicine Training interview opens with a two-minute spoken presentation, no slides, then questions on your application, achievements and suitability for IMT. Those two areas are each weighted 1.6, together 32 of the 96 marks.

IMT Interview 2027: Two Stations, Timings, the /96 Scoring and Appointability
The Internal Medicine Training interview is two 11-minute stations on Qpercom Recruit, scored by two interviewers on seven areas from 1 to 5, weighted to a maximum of 96. Appointable means no score of 1, no more than two scores of 2, and a raw score of at least 42 out of 70.

IMT Self-Assessment 2027: Every Domain and Its Points
The Internal Medicine Training self-assessment is scored out of 30 for 2027, with the five IMT-only points removed. Every domain and option is tabled here with its 2026 value and the confirmed 2027 change: publications fall from 8 to 6, presentations rise from 6 to 8.

IMT Application 2027: Dates, Eligibility and the Competition Ratio
Internal Medicine Training applications for 2027 open at 10am on 22 October 2026 and close at 4pm on 19 November 2026. Full GMC registration is required on the day you apply, IMT does not use the MSRA, and 2025 drew 8,841 applications for 1,678 posts, a ratio of 5.27 to one.
